Streusel Coffee Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 3/4 cup raisins or semisweet chocolate pieces
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon margarine or butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. In a bowl stir together 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 3/4 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  2. In another bowl stir together 1 beaten egg, 1/2 cup milk, and 1/4 cup cooking oil; add to flour mixture. Mix well. Stir in 3/4 cup raisins or semisweet chocolate pieces. Pour into a greased 9x9x2-inch baking pan.
  3. Combine 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon; cut in 1 tablespoon margarine or butter till crumbly. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Sprinkle over batter. Bake in a 375° oven about 30 minutes or till a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Serve warm.
