
Penuche Frosting

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup margarine or butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
Instructions
- In saucepan melt margarine; stir in brown sugar. Cook and stir till bubbly. Remove from the heat.
- Add milk; beat vigorously till smooth. Add powdered sugar; beat by hand till of spreading consistency. Immediately frost tops of two 8- or 9-inch cake layers or top of one 13x9-inch cake.
- Microwave directions: In a 1-quart casserole micro-cook margarine on 100% power (high) for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or till melted. Stir in brown sugar. Cook on high for 1 to 2 minutes or till bubbly over entire surface, stirring every minute. Add 3 tablespoons milk; continue as above.
