
Nut Torte

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon finely shredded orange peel
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 1/2 cups walnuts, pecans, or hazelnuts
- Chocolate Butter Frosting (see recipe, page 89)
Instructions
- In a bowl stir together flour, baking powder, and orange peel; set aside.
- In a blender container or food processor bowl place eggs and sugar. Cover and blend or process till smooth. Add nuts. Blend or process about 1 minute or till nearly smooth. Add flour mixture; blend or process just till combined.
- Spread batter evenly into 2 greased and floured 8 1/2x1/2-inch round baking pans. Bake in a 350° oven about 20 minutes or till lightly browned.
- Cool on wire racks for 10 minutes. Remove from pans; cool thoroughly on racks. Frost with Chocolate Butter Frosting.
