French Silk Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter (not margarine)
  • 3 squares (3 ounces) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • Baked Pastry Shell (see recipe, opposite)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl beat sugar and butter with an electric mixer on medium speed about 4 minutes or till fluffy. Stir in chocolate and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating on high speed after each addition and scraping sides of bowl constantly. Transfer to Baked Pastry Shell. Cover; chill for 5 to 24 hours or till set. If desired, top with unsweetened whipped cream and chocolate curls.
