Instructions
- For a delicious dinner in a hurry, put frozen breaded fish portions, sticks, or fillets in the oven and stir up one of these easy sauces.
- Dilly-of-a-Sauce: In a saucepan melt 1 tablespoon margarine or butter. Stir in 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour and 1/2 teaspoon dried dillweed. Add 3/4 cup milk. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Stir in one 2 1/2-ounce jar sliced mushrooms, drained, and 1/2 cup shredded process Swiss cheese. Cook and stir till cheese melts.
- Tex-Mex Sauce: Cook one 8-ounce can tomato sauce; one 4-ounce can diced green chili peppers, drained; 1/2 teaspoon sugar; 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander; and a dash bottled hot pepper sauce; cook till heated.
- Sweet-Sour Sauce: Cook one 10-ounce jar sweet-and-sour sauce; one 8-ounce can pineapple tidbits, drained; and half of a green or sweet red pepper, cut into strips, till heated through.
