
Creole-Style Green Beans

Ingredients
- 1 9-ounce package frozen cut or French-style green beans, or one 16-ounce can cut or French-style green beans
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
- 1 tablespoon margarine or butter
- 1/2 cup chopped tomato
- 1/4 cup diced fully cooked ham
Instructions
- Cook frozen beans according to package directions; drain. (Or, drain canned beans.) Cook onion and basil in margarine till tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in beans, tomato, ham, and dash pepper. Cook, covered, 1 to 2 minutes more or till heated through.
- Microwave directions: Cook beans according to package microwave directions; drain. (Or, drain canned beans.) In a 1-quart casserole micro-cook onion, basil, and margarine, covered, on 100% power (high) 1 to 2 minutes or till onion is tender, stirring once. Stir in drained beans, tomato, ham, and dash pepper. Cook high 1 to 2 minutes more or till heated through.
