Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 4 turkey breast tenderloin steaks (about 1 pound total)
- 1/2 cup cranberry-orange sauce
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons toasted sliced almonds
Instructions
- In a bowl stir together margarine or butter and soy sauce. Rinse turkey; pat dry. Place turkey on the unheated rack of a broiler pan; brush with soy mixture. Broil 4 to 5 inches from the heat for 5 minutes; turn and brush with soy mixture. Broil for 4 to 6 minutes more or till turkey is tender and no longer pink.
- Meanwhile, for sauce, in a small saucepan stir together cranberry-orange sauce, orange juice, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Cook and stir over medium heat till thickened and bubbly. Cool and stir for 2 minutes more. Spoon sauce over turkey steaks. Sprinkle with almonds.
- Microwave directions: Stir together margarine or butter and soy sauce. Rinse turkey; pat dry. Place turkey in a 12x7 1/2x2-inch baking dish; drizzle with soy mixture, turning turkey to coat evenly. Micro-cook, covered with waxed paper, on 100% power (high) for 5 to 8 minutes or till tender and no longer pink, turning steaks over and rearranging once. Meanwhile, for sauce, in a 2-cup measure stir together cranberry-orange sauce, orange juice, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Cook, uncovered, on high for 2 to 3 minutes or till thickened and bubbly, stirring every minute till sauce starts to thicken, then every 30 seconds. Spoon sauce over turkey steaks. Sprinkle with almonds.
- Grill directions: Stir together margarine or butter and soy sauce. Rinse turkey; pat dry. Grill turkey on an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 8 minutes. Turn. Grill for 4 to 7 minutes more or till tender and no longer pink, brushing often with soy mixture. Prepare sauce as above. Spoon sauce over turkey steaks. Sprinkle with almonds.
