
Broiled Coconut Topping

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 cup flaked coconut
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Bake the cake in a metal pan so it's broiler-ready.
- In a bowl beat brown sugar and margarine or butter till combined. Stir in milk. Stir in coconut and, if desired, nuts. Spread over warm cake in pan.
- Broil about 4 inches from heat for 3 to 4 minutes or till golden. Serve warm. Frosts one 8- or 9-inch cake layer.
